they buffed his Q amidst the absurd amount of bug fixes they were throwing out for him. they turned a late-game monstrosity into an all-game monstrosity because of it. I knew someone would say this. Bug fixes sure, but trading 15 damage on early Q for lower AP ratio on W doesn't suddenly make him an early game monster so much more but does makehis damage for one Q and one AA lower than his old damage after 150 AP, God forbid you attack more than once with W. His Q and E both got all-rank 15 base damage buffs, and his soldiers lost .1 AP ratio as a result. It takes 300 AP for him to start losing damage, and Azir doesn't really build much AP until his 3rd/4th item. He gained 20 shield on E, not 15 damage. And as I said, he starts losing damage at 150 AP assuming you only auto attack once per Q, usually you'd hope for a least 2 so you actually start losing damage after 75 AP. Also what the heck are you people building that you don't have a major AP item until your 3rd or 4th. Before season 5 mana changes I actually played him with no mana items and had little problem managing his mana, is this a problem now? I used to get an early needlessly large rod or something, then chunk people with W-AA-Q-AA. in lane, you're probably not going to attack more than once per Q. you don't have the attack speed to to so before they move out of the way. So yeah, i would say the buffs contributed to his popularity. this is bad because he scales so well into the late-game, yet is allowed to be another champion with a safe laning phase. We have enough of those in the game as it is, i don't want another one. all you have to do is hit them with Q and a single auto attack in lane. most people go with morellos into an hourglass or deathcap or something.

I've never had trouble managing his mana, I just dislike saving up 1600 gold in midlane when I have no items. Morello's as a first item gives enough on its own to justify sitting around waiting for that NLR or whatever you buy afterwards. It also gives 20% CDR which lets you Q more often for more damage.

Yes please. i'd be fine with that. his core damage is supposed to be from his soldiers by design, everything else just enables him to reposition himself, his soldiers, and his enemies to better suit himself. He feels more like "SPAM YOUR Q IN THIS DIRECTION AND WIN THE GAME" to me right now.
