I lucked out and landed in a job where I can work from home permanently, so you can say I'm still the same shitposting, porn-spamming dumbass I've always been.

I went back to uni and I'm doing my bachelor's in Geology and probs a PhD afterwards, also finally engaged to my partner after like 10 years oh sweet, i can now not waste scrolls identifying magical stones. Gimme your PO Box, i'll send some over post-haste. Grats on the engagement! Just got out of a hellish gig in a fintech corporation and into a small web dev firm. Miss me with that Game of Thrones office politics bullshit with a backdrop of antiquated tech nobody's been using for a decade. Barely endured it for the 6 months i was there. Suddenly i have the energy to do more than just get high to wind down every day. I went to a corporate meetup celebrating the company's 10th anniversary and by god it was the most dystopian thing I've ever laid my eyes on. The CEO presenting in front of several hundred people about all the "cool stuff" """we""" did as a "family". They actually passed off an employee's fucking amazing feat of hiking along the entirety of the US's pacific coast as a company success! And people were unironically clapping for this. There was a vote for the "Mercuriest 10" people of the company, where each letter of the company's name, MERCURY PSI, was made into a cringy "virtue". Do you know which virtue Y was? Are ya ready? It was "YABBA DABBA DOO" BECAUSE YOU'RE A "HAHA" JOKESTER FUNNYMAN HAHA GET IT HAHA WE'RE HR, WE GOT PEOPLE SKILLS, WE KNOW HUMAN HUMOR HAHA I've never felt more of an urge to chuck myself out the window than when i read that email.
